Abstract

The objective was to find out the gross revenue of three cropping succession systems, through grain and forage productions, which were used to control the Annoni-2 grass weeding a native grassland in lowlands, Capão do Leão, RS, Brazil. Two cropping cycles with soybeans, forage sorghum and grain sorghum during the hot season, plus black oat over the cold season, were carried over. The experimental design was blocks at random with six replications. Economic analysis of grain and forage productions were performed at the end of each agricultural cycle and at the closing of the two cycles. The direct cost method (expenditures with machinery, labour, fertilizers, herbicides and other outputs) was adopted for the economic analysis. Under this environmental conditions, the cropping successions with forage sorghum + black oat and soybeans + black oat rendered positive gross revenues per agricultural year and at the end of the two agricultural cycles taken as a whole.
