Abstract

The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important legume grown worldwide. The domestication of plants had a major impact on the rise of agriculture. The main changes promoted from domestication of
common bean are linked to loss of seed dispersal, loss of seed dormancy, reduced time maturity, plant architecture and
the yield primary components. Other important changes include: larger leaves, more robust stems, flowers, seed pods
larger; seeds with higher water permeability which provided a faster cooking and more uniform germination.
