Abstract

The objectives of the present study were to investigate the influence of mineral fertilization on the colonization by arbuscular mycorhizal (AM) fungi, nutrient levels in soil and 'caves, and yield of 'Montenegrina' tangerines (Citrus deliciosa Tenore) grafted onto Poncirus trifoliata Raf. The orchard was planted in July 1988 on a dark red podzolic soil (Rhodic Paleodult). The following treatments of soil fertilizeis support were applied: 1) N, K and liming; 2) N, K, liming and P, before planting; 3) N, P, K and liming; 4) N, K, double rate of P and liming; 5) N, P and K without liming. The colonization of AM fungi was increased by reduction of P fertilizers. Level of 13 were high on the plots fertilized with P and decreased in treatments without annual P. However, differences did not occur in leaf P level and total fruit production, due to increase of colonization by AM fungi in plants without P fertilizar until eight years after planting.
