Effects of Enos phenomenon over reference evapotranspiration in region of Planalto Médio of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil
Abstract
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the phenomenon ENSO over a reference evapotranspiration (ETo) in climatic area of the Planalto Médio ‘ W, 690m of altitude), Cruz Alta (28° of 36’ S, Rio 53° Grande 40' do Sul State, Brazil. The ETo was estimated to Passo W, 430m de altitude) and Júlio de Castilhos (29° 10’ S, Fundo (28° 14 53° 41” W, 490m ‘ S; 52° 24 de altitude) sites. In the period of October – December, the higher values of ETo occurred during La Niña, for the tree localities. In the period of January – March, the higher values of ETo occurred during neutral years for the tree localities. In this period, the lower values of ETo occurred in La Niña events, for localities of Júlio de Castilhos and Cruz Alta. In the winter period the ETo was higher in neutral years in the most years, in example of observed in summer period. The results showing higher conditions of evaporative demand of atmospheric in neutrals years, in the periods of summer and winter.
