Evaluation of early cicle corn cultivars to indication to Rio Grande do Sul state - growing season 2010/2011
Abstract
In the 2010/2011 growing season, 23 early cicle corn cultivars were evaluated in ten environments of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, in order to formalize indications to the next growing season. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with three replications and the density was adjusted to 60,000 plants per hectare. Based on mean yield of the control cultivars subtracted in one standard deview, after two years of evaluation, the cultivars ATL 200 (10310 kg ha–1), BM 207 (10162 kg ha–1), CD 388 (9045 kg ha–1), SHX 5550 (8873 kg ha–1), SHS 7770 (10094 kg ha–1), XBX 70202 (10768 kg ha–1) and AG 8025 (10703 kg ha–1) were indicated to culture in Rio Grande do Sul State. The cultivars that presented production sufficient to reach the Indication Index of 100 % in the first year will stay one more growing season in the State Assay.
