Limoeiro-do-mato, Randia ferox (Cham. & Schlecht.) DC. (RUBIACEAE), seeds germination behavior during storage in dry chamber
Abstract
Randia ferox (Cham. & Schlecht.) DC. is a small tree of ornamental value. It is native in Brazil from Minas Gerais to Rio Grande do Sul State. The objective of this work was evaluate the seeds germination behavior at harvest time and during 15 months of storage in dry chamber conditions, by submitting two seeds lots to seed moisture determination and germination, emergence in greenhouse and speed of germination and emergence tests. At harvest time the seed moisture content was 41.6% and the seeds presented 96% of germination. After two months of storage the seeds moisture storage, the dry161 reduced to 11,6% (average), without significantly reduction chamber temperature and humidity conditions (17oC±2oC e in ~ = 45%UR) germination were percentages. propitious to During preserve the seeds longevity for fifteen months.
