Evaluation of transgenic corn cultivars to indication to Rio Grande do Sul state - Growing season 2010/2011
Abstract
In the 2010/2011 growing season, 27 transgenic YG and Hx corn cultivars, with early and very-early cicle, were evaluated in eleven environments of Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, in order to formalize indications to the next growing season. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with three replications. Density was adjusted to 60.000 plants per hectare. Based on mean yield of the control cultivars subtracted in one standard deview, after two years of evaluation, the cultivars AS 1551 YG, AS 1555 YG, AS 1572 YG, AS 1573 YG, AS 1578 YG, DKB 240 YG, DKB 566 YG, 2B604 Hx 30F53 H, BG 7060 Y, AG 8011 YG, AG 8022 YG and AG 8041 YG were indicated to culture in Rio Grande do Sul State. The cultivars that presented production sufficient to reach the Indication Index 100 % in the first year will stay one more growing season in the State Assay.
