Abstract

In the 2010/2011 growing season, nine very-early cicle corn cultivars were evaluated in ten environments of Rio Grande do Sul State, in order to formalize indications to the next growing season. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with three replications. Density was adjusted to 60,000 plants per hectare. Based on mean yield of the control cultivars (AG 9045 and BG 7060) subtracted in one standard deview, after two years of evaluation, the cultivar of very-early cicle PRE 22S11 (8.917 kg ha–1 was indicated to culture in Rio Grande do Sul State. The cultivars that presented production sufficient to reach the Indication Index of 100 % in the first year will stay one more growing season in the State Assay.
