Abstract

The study of scale insects associated with sugarcane was conducted at the Laboratory of Entomology of the State Foundation for Agricultural Research (Fepagro) headquarters Porto Alegre/ RS. The objective is to record a new occurrence in the State, updating the Collection of the Museum of insects Ramiro Gomes Costa (MRGC) of Fepagro. Morphological characters were studied in adult females through permanent slides, references to families and species. Eleven slides of recent collection were examined and resulted in Aclerda takahashii (Coccoidea; Aclerdidae), a new record for the Rio Grande do Sul.
