FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE ERADICATION IN THE STATE OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL, BRASIL
Abstract
In This paper it is describcd either from the epidemiological point of view and animal health policy the evolution of foot-and-mouth disease in Rio Grande do Sul State, Brasil regarding the actions and strategies adopted in 30 years of sanitary campaign against the disease. It is also analised the implications of the disease's erradication process related not only to the international frade but also those additional requirements that must be applied by the State according the Zoosanitary code issued by the Office International dos Epizooties — OIE.
