Agronomic characterization of strawberries cultivars at RS
Abstract
In a randomized blocks study to assess agronomic characters of eight strawberry cultivars (Oso Grande, Camarosa, Campinas, Verão, Vila Nova, Chandler, Dover and Seascape), strawberry plants were grown on plots of land near the southern Brazilian town of Viamão. Oso Grande and Seascape produce the biggest fruit in commercial production. In non-commercial production of the eight cultivars tested there were significant differences between all assessed characters. Vila Nova had the highest number of berries and Oso Grande the highest average berry mass in total production. The greater berries marketable was detected in Oso Grande and Seascape. Campinas, Vila Nova and Camarosa had the highest non-commercial production.
